8 Myanmar newspapers to go daily
A spokesperson from the Ministry of Information has announced that eight journals have been granted temporary permission to publish private daily newspapers in Myanmar from April 1.

“Other applicants can still apply before April 1 as long as they complete all of the required information,” said the Ministry of Information spokesperson.
Private daily newspapers have been banned in Myanmar since 1964.
A draft media law was announced a few days before publishers were informed whether or not they had been granted the daily publishing permit.
